FUO launches greening, beautification club

The Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Osogbo, Prof. Olayinka Karim has launched the institution's Greening and Beautification Club alongside other enthusiastic members of the club.


The momentous occasion featured a warm welcome speech by the Vice Chancellor and the symbolic planting of ornamental plants.


During her speech, Prof. Karim expressed her gratitude to the University's proprietor, NASFAT (Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society), for sponsoring the successful first phase of the project.


She further hinted at NASFAT'S promise to sponsor the anticipated second phase, following the triumph of the initial endeavour.


The Registrar of Fountain University and Secretary of the club, Mr Sherriff Adenekan, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing his appreciation to all stakeholders for their commitment to promoting a greener and more beautiful campus environment.


Prominent figures in attendance at the flagging-off ceremony included the Dean of Colleges, the University Imam, as well as other esteemed members of the club. Their presence highlighted the collective dedication toward fostering a sustainable campus atmosphere and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Fountain University.


The university's Greening and Beautification Club is poised to play a vital role in transforming the university's landscape into a lush and visually appealing space. The club will engage in various activities such as planting trees, nurturing gardens, and implementing sustainable landscaping techniques.


The Prof Karim-led administration's commitment to environmental sustainability and aesthetic excellence is commendable. By establishing the university's Greening and Beautification Club, the university demonstrates its dedication to providing a conducive and visually captivating environment for students, staff, and visitors.
