It was carnival-like, filled with pomp and pageantry where enthusiastic-atmospheric conditions rented the airspace all night, as students of Fountain University, Osogbo held the 2023 Annual Get-together Dinner party marking the 'Departmental Week', in the school premises.
The energetic and ecstatic students of the prestigious citadel of knowledge adorned in beautiful regalia gathered at the Fountain City Banquet Hall, the venue of the event from 5:00 pm.
Fountain University Annual Dinner, is a yearly event put together by the leadership of each of the departments to wrap up some of the activities put together to reawaken the spirit of unity, harmony, peaceful coexistence and togetherness between and among the students as well as the management.
The occasion, which is usually dedicated to encouraging unfiltered academic-based interactions among the students of different academic levels in the departments, has been a veritable unifying tool aimed at bridging the communication gap and strengthening the ties of collaboration and cooperation among the students of the various departments
As a vital instrument of communication, connection and uniformity, the occasion is always charged to build consciousness for the pursuit of academic excellence as the very bests and outstanding students receive awards of honours in their respective disciplines.
Adding innovation to make a difference, this year's event began with fanfare inherent in different entertainment moves driving excitement and euphoria as students of the reputable university showcased their stunning outfits skewed to add memorable glamour to the event.
Though not a speech-making event, the ecstatic students who couldn't hold their excitement and cheers registered their celebratory mood in various communication forms to stimulate the occasion with entertaining and educative appearances as reflected in their physical sight-appealing countenance.
However, the leadership of the departments who didn't spare a moment through the period that the event lasted, used the opportunity therein to appreciate the academic performance of some of the outstanding students in their departments.
The awards presentation, which was part of the highlights of the event, further gripped the participants' attention as a form of encouragement on the need for the students to continue to put in their very best in their academic pursuits.
The Deen of Students Affairs, Fountain University, Dr. Remi Kasali Alatise who administered the awards presentation expressed delight at the impressive performance of the students.
The award categories, ranging from academic excellence to outstanding contributions in various extracurricular activities, ignited enthusiasm and a spirit of self-efficacy in the recipients for being appreciated and honoured.
Meanwhile, as the event was coming to an end, the talented participants were given honourable access to the front to show off their dance skills as the whole thing was full of fun.
