By Oluwatosin Oladokun

The Head of the Mass Communication Department, Fountain University Osogbo, Dr Salaudeen Kamorudeen has described communication between students during exams as a form of exam malpractice.

According to him, it is forbidden for students of the institution to communicate in the examination hall while the exam is ongoing.

The Mass Communication Department Head stated this on Thursday while speaking after the just concluded hitch-free second-semester exam in the institution.

Dr Kamorudeen took time to highlight the sustainability efforts of the Management and Staff of the faith-based University in raising the bar and fervent promotion of academic excellence, a feat which he attributed to upholding the principle of academic standard.

According to him, never would a University in no circumstances compromise its academic standard, adding that the ideal examination sitting arrangement is a must.

He said an age-long standard examination sitting arrangement tradition of the University aimed at averting students of the same department to be communicating in the examination let alone sitting together in the exams.

Dr Salaudeen Kamorudeen decried that "It is prohibited for any students to be exchanging views or ideas in the examination hall."

The HOD who expressed dismay

over the poor reading culture of students, however, appealed to students to prioritise frequent reading habits to enhance their performance forthwith.
