2023 FUO Cultural Day: Fostering sense of unity distinguishes us from others – VC Karim

...as students display ostentatious diversified cultural heritage

As part of efforts to maintain its coveted status in the comity of tertiary institutions in the country and beyond, the management of Fountain University, Osogbo, has reiterated the institution's commitment to continue to churn out graduates excellent in character, morale and learning.


The University authority also reaffirmed its determination to continually raise the bar of quality and quantitative education in all disciplines through the promotion of cultural values aimed at fostering unity and harmony within and outside the school community. 


Speaking at the 2023 Fountain University Cultural Day, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ramota Karim, said the institution is not only known for academic excellence but indeed reputed for its moral standard;  character promotion and cultural rejuvenation.


The Vice-Chancellor who expressed delight in the outstanding performance of the students of the institution in their various chosen fields of study over the years, noted that it is worthy of note that the institution competes favourably among its peers in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.


She acknowledged the management and staff of the Citadel of Knowledge for their avowed commitment and determination to continually build an institution that everyone can be proud of.


According to her, the display of socio-cultural and academic prowess by the students testified to the actualization of the mission and vision of the university.


"We are resolute to continuously produce competent and resourceful graduates with high moral standards irrespective of race, tribe, religion, or political inclinations", she said.


The Cultural Day which provided ample opportunity for the participants to unleash their valued cultural potential and skills, in line with their different socio-cultural and ethnic extractions further showcased the institution as a culturally-inclined citadel of knowledge. 


The entire Namadi Sambo hall, the venue of the event, filled to the brim as participants showcased their rich cultural heritage in different forms to the excitement and satisfaction of those in attendance.


Part of the highlights of the remarkable event was the display of artistic artefacts, and traditional attire among others depicting the inherent values in their various cultures.


However, the exceptional performers were duly awarded as a sign of honour for their outstanding performance.
