The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared tomorrow as a public holiday, in commemoration of Hijrah 1445 AH, Islamic New Year of Muslims across the globe.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Mr. Mudashiru Oyedeji.
According to the statement, the government identified with the residents of the state particularly Muslims on the occasion of this year's Hijrah celebration.
While encouraging the people of the state to take maximum advantage of the festive period to pray for the state, the statement revealed that the Governor would on Saturday presides over a march past indicating the grand finale of the celebration of the new year Islamic calendar.
"Governor Adeleke will preside over a special march pass on Saturday at Osogbo township stadium by taking a symbolic salute as part of series of activities lined-up to mark the new Islamic year", the statement read.
